Hazards are processes—not a single map.

Compare volcanic processes while keeping a necessary distinction: the Mayon layers are for learning, not a current warning, forecast, or evacuation map.

PDC / uson

Hot, fast density currents whose behavior depends on terrain and eruptive conditions. The displayed corridors are illustrative, not a runout calculation.

Lava

Surface flows are affected by vents, discharge, slope, topography, and material behavior. The visual routes are not flow-model outputs.

Lahar

Volcanic debris can be remobilized by rainfall after an eruption. The displayed channels are educational drainage context, not a rainfall or debris-flow model.

Ash

Airborne material is strongly influenced by wind and changing conditions. The wind control is visual, not a meteorological forecast.

How to use the simulator

Choose one process at a time, name the variables that are simplified, and compare the layer with the visible terrain. Then ask what official data or numerical model would be required before a real-world decision could be made.

Never use this for action

For current alert levels, activity, rainfall conditions, exclusion zones, evacuation instructions, and local guidance, follow PHIVOLCS and local authorities.
